 Do You Know?1. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO GOD God created you and has given you life. He loves you and wants you to know Him. He wants your life to be meaningful and satisfying. The Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son, said, ‘I came that they might have life and have it abundantly’ John 10:10. Is your life like this, or are you missing out on the quality of life God wants you to have? God wants you to have Eternal Life, which can begin today and will continue after your death! Jesus said, ‘Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live’ John 11:25 Are you sure you are going to heaven when you die? This is life’s most important question, so you cannot afford to be unsure about it. 2. THERE IS A PROBLEM The problem is we have all broken God’s law by our wrong-doing. The Bible says that we ‘all have sinned’ Romans 3:23, and that we continually fall short of what God requires of us to be. Sin has many symptoms - anger, dishonesty, envy, greed, lust pride, selfishness, unkindness, unbelief in God, failure to love God and people as we ought. You may recognize some of these things in your own life. Our wrong-doing has serious consequences, for God is holy and will not tolerate sin. The Bible says, ‘The wages of sin is death’ Romans 6:23. Sin is spoiling our present life; it will also bar us from Eternal Life. It will keep us out of heaven, cut us off from God forever, and cause us eternal grief, pain and loss. This is the wage sin pays - ‘death’ of the worst possible kind. 3. JESUS CHRIST IS THE SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEM Because He greatly loves and wants to save us, the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to take the punishment that our sindeserved. The Bible says, 'Christ...suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God’ 1 Peter 3:18. He died, then God raised Him from the dead, and He lives today, ready to save us from sin and its terrible consequences. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’ John 14:6. He is the only way to heaven, to forgiveness, to peace with God, and to the wonderful new life that will never end. But without Him, none of these blessings can ever be ours. He is available to you right now. Your response to Him is of vital importance. It is a matter of life and death. 4. YOU CAN RECEIVE CHRIST NOW What to do: In a simple prayer to God, · Admit you have sinned · Acknowledge that Christ died to be the Saviour you need. · Repent of your sin. This means turning your back on everything in your life that you know to be wrong. · Invite Jesus into your life to be your Lord and Saviour |
